There’s no rhyme or reason as to how most people post their images on Facebook. However, in occasion, there is a need to make sure that the content you’re posting is perfectly visible. The first software that we’re going to be looking into, is Wondershare Fotophire. This, is arguably, the most helpful way to make your photo match the Facebook post image size requirement. Here are a just a couple of features that the Wondershare Fotophire makes use of:
Before we begin, you’re going to have to download and install the Fotophire graphics editor. This doesn’t take any more than a couple of minutes, the trial is FREE and can be downloaded from their official website. One’s that’s done, follow the installation process and launch the software! A screen (like the image below) should pop up. Click the first orange box labeled “Photo Editor” in order to begin!
The next step is simple, just click the orange “Open…” text. This will prompt a windows pop up that will ask you to locate the image that you want to resize to match the Facebook post image size requirement. Once you’ve picked out your image, click OK and proceed to the next step!
This will open the main editing platform! As you can see, the image has been imported. You’re also going to need to create an Adobe Account to download Photoshop CC. This comes with a 7-day free trial, that you can extend with a monthly premium membership.
Once you’ve successfully launched the software, click the “Create new…” button to begin.
First up, you’re going to have to prepare a document. Title this accordingly, as you can see (from the image below) we named ours “Facebook Post.” Assign the ratios as follows:
Then, click “Create” or press the Enter Key on your keyboard.
This will prompt a new tab to open - with your imported image. Right-lick on the “Background” layer and then click “Duplicate Layer…” on the drop-down menu.
Click Select > free-transform and resize the image. The border should match the Facebook post image size requirement, just adjust the image to fit!
In order to save your file, you need to click the File tab > Save…
The simplest method is to use the Photos App on your mobile device! No installation is required. It’s simple and quick. However, it might take a while to process more than a couple of images at a time. Also, the ratio of the image might not match exactly.
In order to begin, choose your image from the gallery and click “Edit.”
Now, if you want to adjust the image. Click the Crop icon on the bottom-left hand corner of the screen.
Choose an aspect ratio that suits your needs. Note, none of these are specific enough to match the Facebook post image size, but you can get pretty close.
Play around with the ratio a bit, and edit as you’d like. Once you’re ready to save, click the “DONE” button. Now, you’re ready to post!
