How to use Photo Editor to retouch photos

1. Get Started

Open fotophire, you’ll see this start interface. You’ll see select Photo Cutter if you want to remove background or cut objects out. We’ve also got the guide to learn How to use Photo Cutter to remove background or How to use Photo Eraser to erase unwanted objects.

2. Import photos

To import photos, you can choose Open and select a local photo, or Recent Files to import photos you’ve recently edited.

You can also choose one from the template photos under Samples.

3. Turn on before/after view

To turn on before/after view, you can click below icon and choose from 4 types of comparison view.

4. Rotate

To rotate your photo, simply click the Rotate Right icon:

5. Add filter/overlay/frame

To add filter on your photo, you can go to Effects Module and choose an effect from the templates. Note that each category can be collapsed or expanded if you click the triangle icon on the left.

To frame your photo, you can go to frame module and choose from numerous frame templates.

To add an overlay on your photo, you can go to Texture module and choose an effect from those templates.

Note that you can also choose from 20 blend mode and adjust opacity to determine how you’d like the overlay to be.

6. Crop or change tilt

1. To crop the image, you can click the module Crop, and choose from proportion templates, crop with fixed ratio or custom ratio

2. To change the tilt of the image, you can either click one the corner and hold or use Straighten Tool, which allows you to trace a horizon line on the photo. Then the photo will be automatically straightened.

7. Adjust color

To apply color correction, you can go to Adjustment module, where you can change temperature, white balance, brightness etc.

8. Apply creative blur or vignette

Adding a creative blur will refocus a certain part of the photo and blur the background. You can choose Linear Blur or Radial Blur here:

You can further refine the blur effect by holding the middle point to move it to your focus and adjust the size of the area:

Vignetting will add an artistic shadow to the corner of your photo

9. Add text to your photo

To add text to your photo, simply go to Text module, choose your font, size and style. Then click anywhere on the photo and drag to add a text box:

10. Save settings as preset

You can easily customize personal presets to be used in future project in one click. To do so, click the button at the bottom of editing panel.

Then, type in a preset name, and choose from creating a standard preset, complete preset or partial preset:

In Advanced Mode (Creating a Partial Preset), you can check or uncheck any correction you’ve made and click Create to save it.

To apply a preset you’ve saved, head to Effect Module, and click the saved presets under User Presets:

11. Batch Export

You can efficiently apply changes on several photos at once. Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Finish editing on one photo. Click File button on top left and click Batch Export:

Step 2: Click Add button to import a list of photos. Set the destination folder, format, quality etc. and click Export

12. Save/Print/Share

After you finish editing, you can choose to:

1. Save your photo in JPG, TIFF or PNG (note that image with transparent background must be saved as PNG file);

2. Print your image out. There’re preset printing templates for your convenience. You can also customize printing settings;

3. Directly share on Facebook
